My epic fantasy series, The Key to Magic
The Key to Magic is my fantasy series published on Kindle and Nook. The first book, Orphan, is available now. The second novel, Magician, will be published in Spring 2011 and the follow on book will appear in Fall 2011. Other novels in the series are in development.
Arthur C. Clarke is credited with (not quoting) : A sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic.
From my perspective, there is, of course, the corollary: A sufficiently advanced system of Magic is indistinguishable from science.
I wrote the story I wanted to write without regard to the conventions of typical fantasy.
My fantasy world doesn't have elves, dwarves, dragons, knights, or princesses in the formulaic fashion, but it does have magically engineered creatures, metamorphic beasts, magical teleportation, a fanatical worship of magic, and characters that tend to eschew heroism.
I tend to use the forms and jargon of modern science, or at least, my impression of it.
I will post here from time to time concerning my ongoing efforts to publicize the series, including my travails with the 3d program Blender, the ebook process, the peculiarities of ebook publishers and so forth.
